4 tablespoons porridge oats (or Muesli base, as sold in health
food shops)
Enough milk to cover
2 tablespoons natural yogurt
2 tablespoons unsweetened orange juice (or juice of an orange)
1 apple, grated
1 teaspoon honey
1 banana
1 piece of other fruit (orange, nectarine, peach, some
grapes.....)
Put oats, milk and yogurt in a bowl and leave to soak for about five minutes. Stir in orange juice and honey. Grate the apple, and stir it straight in, to avoid discolouring. Chop the other fruit and stir it in, too.
This was adapted from a recipe in a magazine, and reminds me of the "Swiss Breakfast" we had at school - quite delicious, and very different from muesli in packets.
