Cod à la Portugaise

About 1 lb onions
1 14-oz can chopped tomatoes in tomato juice
2 tbs chopped fresh parsley (or more)
3-4 steaks of white fish - cod, hake, coley, whatever

Chop onion, and saute until cooked - I sauteed in water. Add tomatoes, season and stir. Place fish on top of mixture, and simmer until fish is cooked. Stir in parsley, and serve. I served with rice, but it would have been good with potatoes or pasta, too.
